This spice spices up any coffee! It can also be used for desserts, yoghurt, ice cream and even salads.
Coffee is the favourite drink of the Germans, but many people don’t tolerate it so well, because too much caffeine causes inner restlessness or even noticeable trembling and inner tension. If you still don’t want to do without your coffee, you should try the following recipe “Arabian Coffee Spice”! With this spice mixture, a very mild and “weak” coffee, which has been brewed with little coffee powder, can give a fantastic, strong aroma, and that completely without artificial aromas and additives. If you are used to sweetening your coffee, you can also try the Arabian coffee spice: Its ingredients give the coffee a pleasant sweet taste without having to sweeten the coffee with sugar. Drinking a few cups of coffee a day has one big advantage: you save a few spoons of sugar!
For a small stock of Arabian coffee spice you need the following ingredients:
10 green cardamom capsules
5 pimento kernels
5 black peppercorns
1 stick cinnamon (or 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder)
1/2 tsp ground vanilla bean
1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
1/2 tsp cocoa
And that’s how it’s done
Grind the cardamom and the grains very finely in a mortar or electric mill. Add the cinnamon and other ingredients and mix well. Fill the mixture into a small screw glass or a small shaker. It’s best to make a smaller amount first and try different compositions to find out which mixture you like best. You can add the finished spice when you brew the coffee, pour it into the cup before pouring it in, or sprinkle some powder on top of the milk foam of your cappuccino. Desserts, cakes and salads also give the coffee spice an exquisite aroma.
